Fram, David
(1903-88)
   South African Yiddish poet. He was born in Lithuania and became a member of the Yung Vilne school of poets. In 1927 he settled in South Africa, where he published poems about Jewish life in Lithuania. His later poetry deals with South Africa, but is rooted in the tradition of Lithuanian Jewry. He served as editor of the Johannesburg Yiddish periodical Deryidisherekspres.
